Where do I meet the captain the day of our charter? Captain Thomas will ensure all guests are informed of the time and location to meet on the day of your charter adventure.
What happens if it rains the day of my charter? We carefully monitor weather conditions to ensure the safety of all. Captain Thomas will go out in light rain, particularly if it is going to be scattered showers without lightning. Charters are not operated in lightning or thunderstorms, but all other weather related cancellations will be at the discretion of the Captain. In the event of a rain out / weather wash out; client can pick between receiving a full refund or utilizing the amount as a deposit on another charter.
What should I bring? We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a rain coat, a cooler for your catch, and for children under 6 please bring a small, snug life vest to ensure the safest protection
Do you supply the bait, rods, reels, hooks, fishing license, etc? Yes. Sea Legs provides all your needed items for a fun day fishing.
Do you clean the fish? Is there an extra charge for that? We do offer the option of cleaning your fish for $3 per fish.
If my child or I get seasick, can we turn around? We suggest not eating a heavy or greasy meal prior to the charter. If prone to motion sickness, it is also suggested clients consider taking OTC nausea medicine, with doctors approval. Prevention is the best way to combat motion sickness. However, yes, we can turn around if needed; however, the charter fee is non-refundable in these circumstances. We don’t go out in weather that is unsafe or that is likely to cause seasickness. We have some fishing areas that are in the waterway with less wind to cause as much motion, and these areas aren’t subject to ocean waves if the sea is rough.
Can I bring my pet? Sorry but we don't allow customer pets on the charters.
Do you provide snacks or meals? We do not currently provide snacks or meals for guests, but have a cooler of ice for you to store drinks or snacks you wish to bring. Stay tuned for information about our "Catch & Cook" package, with Chef Joseph Bisson of Tide Pool Catering, launching in the Summer of 2024!
Can I bring beer or alcohol? Yes, guests over 21 may bring beverages of their choice, but please drink responsibly. Please refer to the alcohol policy in guest waiver. Please note - Offensive, reckless, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate conclusion of the charter. Full payment will still be required.
What else does Sea Legs provide? Boat, fishing licenses, rod, reel, tackle, bait, ice chest, storage for personal items, and a day of fishing fun!
What is the customary tip for the captain and crew? Tips generally range from 20-30% of the cost of the charter depending on your experience and the service level provided. We find most clients tip either $80, $100 or $120. You are welcome to prepay your gratuity, or tip the Captain at the end of trip.
